THE ORIGIN

Our cheese, the one bearing the 2010 ID code, is made in the Caseificio Sociale Bassa Parmense dairy. The dairy started its activity on 9 March 1972 in the countryside between Parma and Sorbolo, and on that very day the first 8 wheels with ID code 2010 were produced!! Back in those days the members were 15.

GROWTH

Over the years, the dairy added two maturation warehouses, one shop for the sale of its products and a farm with pigs intended to provide haunches for the production of Parma Ham.

EVOLUTION

Over the years and with the milk farms growing in size, the old members have disappeared and have been replaced by the current 8 farms the milk of which is used to produce around 28 wheels of cheese every day.

THE FUTURE

We are now 8 farms members of the Caseificio Bassa Parmense and are mostly run by young people, who are strongly united by the desire to give continuity to what has been built so far by those who preceded us, and to cherish our passion of bringing Parmigiano Reggiano cheese onto your tables.
